About our Foundation
The Sean M. Walsh K-9 Memorial Foundation was formed by Sean's friends and family just days after his mother, Cheryl, learned of Sean's death. They were motivated not only by their love for Sean, but by their desire to fulfill his dream of being a K-9 Handler. They would make it possible for other deserving Police Officers to fulfill their dreams in Sean's memory. Led by Cheryl, the team started the process of forming the Foundation.
As word got out about what the team was doing, Sean's K-9s started receiving donations from friends, co-workers, and family members from all across the country – the Sean M. Walsh K-9 Memorial Foundation was off the ground. Sean's K-9s was able to fund the first grant to the Santa Clara Police Department (California, U.S.A.) within the first 6 months.
The team soon realized that there are many departments and communities in need of K-9s , so they started raising funds for the next donation. Sean's K-9s relies heavily on donation at community events, like setting up an exhibit table, allowing the word to get out about Sean's K-9s, and helping to raise awareness of the Foundation and supply funding for the next donation for a K-9. Sean's K-9s also relies heavily on business sponsors at all levels to help live the mission.
Sean's dream has become his mother's passion. Sean's K-9s is a 501(c)3, non-profit organization that is proud to be 100% volunteer, with minimal overhead costs.
Sean's K-9s can't make any of this possible without donations from people like you.
Your donation to Sean's K-9s helps us continue our mission.
